Tends roatry drum-filters that separate slurries into liquid
and filter cake (insoluble material): Couples flexible hose or
pipe to vat, starts pump, and turns valves to regulate flow of
slurry to filter tanks. Adjusts controls to regulate rotation
speed of drums. Turns valve to regulate pressure that forces
slurry through filter, separating filter cake from liquid.
Obserevs discharge to ensure that scrapers are removing filter
cake from drum. May tend thickeners, washing sprays, settlers,
or related equipment.
May draw samlpe for laboratory analysis.
May be known according to trade name of machine.
